Move

This tool can be used to move parts of your character. You may use it to move the contents of entire frames, or the contents of a selected pixels area. This may be achieved through two distinct tools:

Tool barMenu barShortcutsDescription
Character > MoveMMove the contents of a frame.
Character > Move pixelsShift + MMove the contents of a selected pixels area.

Moving frames

You may move frames' contents by using the first version of this tool (Move). In order to use it, you must:

  • Select the layer(s) that will be affected by the command. Note that you may select several layers. If you don't select any layer, the command will operate on every layer.
  • Likewise, select the frame(s).

Eventually, simply click on the character, hold the mouse button, and move cursor. This will move the frame contents of the selected frames and layers. For more accuracy, you may look at the bottom left corner of the window, which displays how much the contents moved (pixel-wise). You may also use your keyboard arrows.

Note that content that goes outside its the frame border is not lost, even though it is not displayed. You may retrieve it by moving it again back to its frame.

Moving pixels

Likewise you may move selected pixels area contents by using the second version of this tool (Move pixels). In order to use it, you must have one layer selected, and some pixels selected as well.

Eventually, like with the frames, simply click on the character, hold the mouse button, and move the cursor. This will move the area contents of the selected layer. For more accuracy, you may look at the bottom left corner of the window, which displays how much the contents moved (pixel-wise).

If within the layer, the selected area doesn't gather every pixel, the contents will be detached and moved to a new layer.

If you press Ctrl before moving, the area contents will be copied, and you will move the copy.
